HOMESCHOOL
ACTING PROGRAM
A comprehensive film & television program for homeschool students ages 11-15.
This trimester-based program combines professional acting training with project-based learning in a collaborative, supportive environment. Students train inside a working casting office while developing on-camera acting skills, creative confidence, and a deeper understanding of the film and television industry.
WHAT STUDENTS WILL EXPERIENCE
FILM & TV SCENE WORK
Work with television & film scripts to build strong characters and natural on-camera performance.
COMMERCIALS & IMPROV
Explore commercial copy and improv to develop creativity, quick thinking, and confidence.
AUDITION TECHNIQUE
Learn audition essentials, script analysis, self-tape skills, and how to take direction on camera.
INDUSTRY INSIGHTS
Gain real-world insight through guest visits, mock auditions, and Q&A sessions.
STUDENT-DRIVEN LEARNING
A collaborative environment where lessons evolve with the interests and goals of the students.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE
Fall Trimester: September 8–November 12, 2026
No scheduled breaks.
Winter Trimester: January 5–March 18, 2027
No classes on Tuesday, February 16 or Thursday, February 18 for February vacation.
Spring Trimester: March 30–June 10, 2027
No classes on Tuesday, April 20 or Thursday, April 22 for April vacation.​

Thursday: 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM (in-studio at Boston Casting)

SCHOOL CREDIT
This program is designed to provide sufficient instructional hours to support many homeschool elective or fine arts credit requirements.

Boston Casting is not an accredited school. However, we are happy to provide attendance records, course descriptions, and other documentation that family may submit to their homeschool program or supervising district when appropriate.
About the instructor, Jennifer Salvucci:
With more than 23 years of experience as an educator, actor, mentor, and coach, Jen brings a thoughtful and student-centered approach to working with children and adolescents. She is passionate about creating an environment built on trust, respect, creativity, and collaboration.

As the Drama Teacher at Cambridge Friends School, Jen built a comprehensive drama curriculum designed to develop well-rounded young actors with an understanding of both performance and the collaborative process behind a successful production. Her program has also given students opportunities to connect with professionals working in theater, film, and television, including award-winning playwright Kirsten Greenidge, Boston University directing lecturer Clay Hopper, and Jonas Spaccarotelli, assistant director of Greta Gerwig’s Little Women. Jen also works with young actors at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, where she serves as a guest instructor teaching Acting for the Camera.

Throughout her career, Jen has supported young people not only as performers, but also as students navigating auditions, interviews, applications, and other important milestones. She brings that combination of arts education, mentorship, and real-world preparation to Boston Casting’s new Homeschool Acting Program, where she is excited to build a curriculum specifically for young actors.
